Quilt Gardens of Indiana Shipshewana Flea Market and Special performance of The Rock & The Redeemer
4 Days August 23 - 26, 2010
Day 1 Shipshewana, IN
This morning we cross the border into the US enroute to the Amish Country of Indiana. Dinner is included this evening at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus. The next three nights will be at the Country Inn & Suites, Shipshewana.
Day 2 Quilt Gardens tour
Nothing says Amish County like an exquisitely handcrafted quilt - except, perhaps a bountiful garden! Both have been combined into 16 dazzling and colourful quilt gardens. This morning a local guide joins us as we travel to various neighbouring communities to see the quilt gardens. In precise detail, each garden recreates a traditional or contemporary quilt pattern. Several stops will be made throughout the day including a stop at the Farmers Market, for lunch and shopping. We return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3 Shipshewana, IN
Today is Market Day! The Flea Market has over 1000 vendors selling everything imaginable, from Clothing and Tools to Jewelry and Crafts... and so much more including those hard to find items!
This afternoon we see the performance of The Rock and the Redeemer at the Blue Gate Theatre. It tells the story of Simon Peter, a skilled laborer, a fallen apostle, and a restored follower all in one! You'll get to know the not-so-perfect disciple, and his not-so-typical family in this fun-filled, heartfelt, fresh new musical. Witness the transformation in the lives of some of the people closest to the Redeemer. A delicious dinner is included after the show.
Day 4 Home
Our tour of Indiana Amish Country comes to an end as we board our coach and return home.
