Nashville Country Christmas Join us for a magical Christmas holiday experience!
6 Days November 29 - December 4, 2010
This year, come celebrate the holiday season with us at the Gaylord Opryland Resort for a “Nashville Country Christmas”. You will be in awe of the spectacular Christmas light displays, the elaborate decorations and the grandeur of one of the world’s most beautiful resort hotels.
Day 1 Cincinnati, OH
We begin our journey by travelling west along the 401 crossing into the US at Sarnia. Our overnight stay will be in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Day 2, 3, 4 Nashville, TN
We arrive in Nashville early afternoon and settle into our garden view rooms at the Opryland Resort. Awe-inspiring and breathtaking are only two of the many words that we could use to describe this fabulous resort hotel; complete with indoor rain forests, waterfalls and covered over by a 15-story glass ceiling!
Opryland Resorts “Country Christmas” has become Nashville’s one-of-a-kind holiday tradition. The complex is decorated with over 20,000 poinsettias, miles of garland and over two million sparkling outdoor lights.
Highlights of our stay include reserved seating for the famous Grand Ole Opry at the historic Ryman Auditorium, a tradition where aspiring performers become renowned stars and where legends return to their roots. Relax over a delicious lunch aboard the General Jackson Showboat as we set sail on the Cumberland River. We have reserved seating at The Grand Ole Opry House for the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” starring the world famous Rockettes, a show that is sure to get you in the spirit of the season. A part of every show is the famous March of the Wooden Soldiers. Enjoy a delicious Christmas Dinner with entertainment by the beautiful and talented Louise Mandrell.
Spend time wandering through the different areas of the resort; the Magnolia Gardens, the Garden Conservatory and the Delta. There is no need for a jacket since the resort is housed under a magnificent glass atrium where it is always a comfortable 72 degrees. Enjoy strolling through acres of lush indoor gardens, along winding pathways, and past sparkling waterfalls. Take a ride on a Delta Flat Boat along the indoor river through the Delta Conservatory and enjoy as the Waltzing Waters dance to the sounds of Christmas music.
Tickets are included for “Treasures for the Holidays” art, antique and craft fair and “Fantasy in ICE”, a magnificent display of ice sculptures that ends with a larger than life-size Nativity. Be sure to visit the Hall of Trees. Browse through a room filled with Christmas trees that have been decorated by professional designers and are later auctioned to the highest bidder with proceeds going to charity. See life size sculptures portraying the Christmas Story in the outdoor gardens. All of this is included and is at your leisure.
If you want to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, Opry Mills is a bargain shopper's paradise with more than 200 manufacturer outlets, specialty stores and restaurants situated next door to the Resort. A VIP coupon booklet is included for your shopping pleasure.
Day 5 Cincinnati, OH
You will have time this morning to relax over a fabulous buffet breakfast in the Waters Edge restaurant, and perhaps do some last minute shopping before we begin our journey north. We overnight in Cincinnati.
Dec 6 Home
We return to Canada via Sarnia. Arrival home is scheduled for early evening.
